At the end of September, I look back on 43 years of life. 16 years ago, I left Wachovia Bank to join Countrywide Full Spectrum Lending because I wanted to get out of working in retail banking, and I wanted to get into lending. Little did I know that I would walk down this path again. I’m very thankful I’m training under someone who also began 17 years ago in the mortgage industry. His patience, understanding, and work ethic pushes me to work hard to keep up with him. The volume and complexity of each deal is helping me pick up lost time. With this change, I realize I should’ve left the banking side awhile ago. The freedom and lifestyle are almost completely different. Everything is faster, and my work ethic is back to where it used to be when I first started in the mortgage industry. My goal is to pay off the car by the end of December. The reason is we’ll only have the mortgage payment to worry about when I reach the commission only side. In essence, I’m becoming a self-employed business owner. There will be lean months, and there will be prosperous months. Having a budget and setting aside money is very important. Does a budget fit into your debt free journey?
