Thank God this year is over with. I have never experienced a year of such change and transformation. I went through 3 to 4 life events in one year, which is unheard of. My Dad passed away, Evie was born, we had to move to our new house, we helped my Mom move to her new apartment, I had to buy a new car, the COVID-19 pandemic & the ensuing lockdown, and the PPP loans provided by banks to help small businesses. All these events happened not just this year, but almost literally back-to-back. I was told at one point in time that I was resilient, and looking back on this year, I had to be. I should have had a nervous breakdown and or quit, but I didn’t. My faith in something higher than me carried me through this year, and I am grateful for it. I hope next year is better. Evie got to experience her first trip to a Christmas tree farm, and we put up our first real Christmas tree in the house. I was scared that we were going to have put Sasha down, but somehow, she made it through this month. I know inevitably she is either going to pass away or we’re going to have to make the decision to put her to sleep, and I do not think I can handle it. She’s been Jill’s faithful pet for almost 13 years, and she’s not just a dog to us…. she is family. As this year ends, I look forward to the future. My goal remains the same, I want to pay off the Capital One Auto loan, go after the student loan, and finally pay off the car loan. As I learned from Dave Ramsey, baby step 2 is paying off all debts except the house, and we are closer than most to achieving this step. Baby step 3 involves having 3 to 6 months’ worth of emergency expenses set aside in savings. This amount acts as insurance against life, and at the same time keeps a person from having to reach for the credit card ever again. If you ever need a receipt for your finances, then I recommend his way. Being debt free is a choice to make every day. What do you choose?

This month’s video is “This was the PLAN from the BEGINNING” from the Video Advice YouTube channel.
“The LORD will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them.”
