Pursuit of Excellence

Since 2019, I have more actively started listening and watching podcasts. It is a form of free expression, and after watching the same guests on multiple podcasts with multiple hosts, I’ve found a format that I enjoy listening to the most. I love the long form conversation podcast. It’s informal and it’s natural. I do not know who started it, but I feel like it works. It is because of one particular podcast; I’ve found myself exploring other people I have never considered before. It’s expanded my awareness into many different areas of life beyond just finance, and faith. It now goes into comedy, science, hunting, mixed martial arts, and many different areas. Over the years, I have tried many different ways to start a business. There is graveyard of failed businesses and concepts. I remember when I got hired on at my current job, my long-time friend welcomed me aboard and reminded me not to have a business on the side. It was his way of getting me to focus on doing a good job and being a good employee. I have taken his advice to heart even more so when I realized the impact and confusion it would cause if I ran a business alongside my current work.

It is why I’ve found myself very protective of my privacy. I don’t want nor do I need the spotlight. As a result, this website exists as an outlet for my creativity, and my experiences for the purpose of one day forming a potential future business. With the style of podcasts that I really like, I have started podcasting with my old roommate Derek. We recorded a few episodes, and in the future, I’ll create a link for you to be able to watch our episodes. My why for doing this podcast is far more layered than a business idea. It is something I genuinely enjoy. As I turn 41 this year, my mind starts thinking more and more about legacy and about the future. I want to leave something behind for Evie and her children’s children so that they will be able to know me as I am now. I hope that it will help them. I am not perfect, but I am very human. Our lives are a vapor and a mist, and it’s important to not just focus on surviving but to get to a place where you are truly living. Can you see beyond debt free to your true legacy?
