At the end of June, I’ve closed 5 units with the potential of earning the most I’ve ever earned or the closest to the most I’ve ever earned in my working career. Although it’s inspiring, it also creates a lot of pressure on myself to perform. I also must keep in mind that my base salary will end up going away once I’ve been a year into this position. With a growing family, I know that their wants & needs will grow too. Having a budget is more important than ever, and I feel like we’re breaking it. We’re going to sit down and re-evaluate how much we need to really spend and create guard rails. Having a budget meeting is necessary to prevent over-spending. Is it fun? No, but it is fundamental to providing a good example for our children. It’s true: if you earn more, you will spend more. It’s important to continue to focus on purchasing income producing assets for both the future and your current income. Does your debt free me plan for the future?
