The Journey to becoming debt free is long especially if you have a mortgage. One payment at a time, and the timing of when the payment is placed does make a difference. Interest compounds daily so the earlier in the month of the payment the more that is paid towards the principal of the loan. If you can afford to make a 2nd payment or even a smaller payment towards just the principal is effective. At the end of July, I was able to close a few loans, but the month of August is looking very thin for me. It’s for these lean months, if you’re in a sales role that is commission based that you need to have a plan and a budget which creates guardrails. Does your debt free month factor in a budget?
