At the end of March, I’m entering one of the busiest seasons within my new role. There’s spring break, and in a few months, the school year will end. This change will lead to more home buyers entering the market. April is looking to be one of the most productive months I’ve ever had. With my new job I’ve found myself praying more and more.
Looking back on my finances, and in observation of other people’s finances, I realized that tithing works. It’s my personal belief over years of applied and practical experience that there is a spiritual component over your money. If you’re unfamiliar with tithing, then you can either contact me or search the internet for the term. Tithing does break the curse of the devourer over your finances. I systematically and consistently tithe the first 10% of my finances to the Lord, and I’ve seen my finances not only grow over time, but survive the challenges of life. I’ve also watched others that don’t tithe and watched them struggle financially. Time will show if I’m correct about this point of view, but now that I walk this path, I will not walk from it. I’ll even teach this way to my children.
Even if you are on a budget and can’t afford 10%, then tithe the first 1%. It begins with having a budget, and one day becoming debt free. Do you have a plan for tithing when you are debt free?
